Downtime
As many of you have undoubtedly noticed, the site has been experiencing some downtime over the past few days. The staff is fully aware of the issue and all efforts are being made to get things up and running again as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, some of the more recent adds (new chapters, reviews, forum posts, ect) have disappeared. Some have already re-appeared, but until all the server issues have been fixed, these types of things may continue to happen. The best thing to do is just hang tight. We’ll let you know when everything is working correctly. Thanks for your patience!

Queue Open For Business

We hope our holiday hasn't causes any writer's block! We are again, open for business. The deadline for the June Staff Challenge (#2) has been extended until June 26 in light of the closure.

Queue Closure
The queue will be closed June 12 through June 24 for the staff's annual summer vacation. Trusted authors will be still be allowed to post during this time.

The deadline for the June Staff Challenge (#2) will be extended until June 26 in light of the closure.

As to the HPFF United Collab for the Princely Summer Event, your house staffer can still accept submissions during the staff vacation. However, this is their vacation time so it would be best for you to ask in advance if your staffer will be available for posting of submissions. If not, your house will need to find an alternate validator to accept the submissions. Someone on staff is always around to keep things running smoothly so you should have no problems finding someone to assist you with submissions.

Joanne K is our competition winner.
The HPFF Holidays Riddle Hunt is officially over! It was quite an exciting competition, and we thank all you members for your participation. Solving riddles is never an easy task, so congratulations to everyone who tried. I am also pleased to announce that Joanne K is the winner of this competition! Congratulations to her - she managed to find all forty-nine riddles and submitted all the correct answers! Her prize, a collectors copy of 'The tales of Beedle the Bard' is currently winging it's way to her

If you would like to congratulate Joanne K or check the answer key, please visit the 'competition' area of the forums.

Apologies for the late announcement. This was due to an error on my part.

Novel Contest Winners

We had some AMAZING stories submitted for HPFF’s first ever Novel Contest and, in the end, it was an extremely close call between our two top contestants. I’m pleased to announce that Illusia by queen_luna has been named our grand prize winner.

Her wonderful story with outstanding cover art done by LittleMiss will be bound for her to show off to all her friends.

Our two runners-up are:
The Power of Innocence by PieIsMyFriend
Tryianne Tears by Ariana Gryffindor.

Both stories were excellent reads and garnered the attention of all the judges for their creative plots and outstanding characterizations.

Congratulations to all our winners and thanks to everyone who joined for making our first novel contest such a huge success and to all the graphic artists at TDA for taking the time to design such brilliant book covers for each of the novels.

Note to Winners: Please contact timeturner to accept and receive your prizes.

HOLIDAY RIDDLE HUNT
Dear fellow HPFF members,

The staff here at HPFF hope that you are enjoying your holidays. As an alternative to the queue, we are proud to present a new competition – the HPFF Holidays Riddle Hunt! There are forty-nine riddles in total, most of which relate to the holidays in some manner. Others will require a little more thinking. Once you have completed the riddle hunt, you will find instructions for submitting your answers. Be sure to keep track of these four things throughout your search: the riddle’s answer, the story title, the story author, and the link to where you found the next clue. They will be very important for your answer submission! Here is an example of what you should record (which is NOT part of this riddle hunt).

Answer: Ring

Story title and author: Alone Facing Darkness by Linaewen

Link: (Insert url here)

So without further ado – roll up your sleeves and put on your thinking caps, for the HPFF Holidays Riddle Hunt is about to begin!

CLUE THE FIRST:

A challenge of some magnitude is here

It heralds the ending of this year

Seven by seven riddles there be

Solve them – solve them carefully!

Your trail will reveal itself in time;

To start, listen closely to this rhyme.

Find the place where things began

Where two met once and met again.

Courage will help you to find the next clue –

Now be off, and good luck to you!
