The Quidditch Cup: 4th Challenge
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for the Quidditch Tournament to begin. If you have not checked out the Quidditch Cup Threads then I suggest swinging by. Each House will square off against an opposing House. Our first round will be Ravenclaw v Slytherin and Gryffindor v Hufflepuff. Unlike traditional Quidditch there is no limit on how many players can be on the field playing, however each team needs to nominate a Captain and Co-Captain. They are the ONLY ones allowed to post in the game thread. It is each House's responsibility to set this up in their House areas.
RULES
There are Quaffles, Blugers and Snitches hidden in various threads around the forum. When they are found please post in you House’s game thread. A staff member will reply with a trivia question. Your House will have 5 hours to answer the question correctly once it is posted. The pieces can only be found once and will be removed once they are discovered.

Quaffles: 1 pt for correct answers
Blugers: -1 pt from the opposing team for correct answers, -1 pt from answering team for incorrect answers
Snitch: Game Over with correct answer
There is no logical pattern or rational to help you find these pieces. This is a game of luck, perseverance and vigilance. If you have any question please post in the Questions thread. The winner of each match will advance in the tournament.
The Winner’s match will be competing for 1st and 2nd place The Loser’s match will be competing for 3rd place

Third House Cup Challenge
For the third challenge we will be having an arcade tournament at our forum. This House Challenge will shortly be under way, and the following have been chosen by their Houses to compete.
Gryffindor: jenniiiiii and amieharry_ginny
Hufflepuff: dracoslover1 and jembo
Ravenclaw: Ellarose_C and alydelacour
Slytherin: CoyotegurlNikki and Heartless Wretch
All the above players will be entered into an 8 way tournament, with the winner progressing to the next round and eventually ending with one winner. The tournament standings can be viewed in the arcade as players make their way through it.
The points will be distributed as follows:
1st: 100 pts
2nd: 50pts
3rd: 25pts
As there are 2 players from each house starting the tournament, theoretically we could end up with 2 players from the same house getting first and second and 150 points!! Whatever your House, I am sure you will wish all the players the best of luck.
Please note that Jay will be the sole judge in how this game is run and how the points are awarded. His decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Challenge Two Results
In case you didn't figure out the theme, this event was based on a Challenge the staff knew as "Finding Your Way Around the Castle." The theme was location, location, location.
Let me first congratulate all the houses on a game well played. Nobody received a perfect score but everybody did exceptionally well. There were 21 Riddles Total. I will publish the riddles and answers later this week, but I want to give those who have not finished the hunt on their own a chance to enjoy this event.
2nd Place- 50 pts: Slytherin
3rd Place (tie)- 25 pts: Hufflepuff and Gryffindor
The scores were a combination of correct answers and order of submission. Ravenclaw was the first House to submit their answers although they made one mistake and not all of their answers were listed as locations. Slytherin was the third House to submit their answers and they made one error. Hufflepuff was the fourth team to submit their answers and they made one error. Gryffindor was the second House to submit their answers but they accidentally skipped a riddle, which is why they were dropped to third place. Keep your eyes open for our next House Cup event.

House Challenge Two
We are now entering into Phase Two of our Tri-Wizard Tournament. You’ve guessed it ladies and gentlemen… it's scavenger hunt time. This hunt has a common theme but I’ll leave it up to you to guess what that theme is. Your first riddle is listed below. Make certain you keep your hints and guesses within your own house because there are wandering eyes all around. You’ll also find a general discussion thread in the competition area if you want to chat with your fellow site mates. Each house may only SUBMIT ONE FINAL ANSWER and your Head of House has to sign off on your answers before they are submitted. I do believe this is our best Scavenger Hunt yet! Some of these riddle are tricky so you’ll have to keep your wits.
First Place: 100 pts
Second Place: 50 pts
Third Place: 25 pts
Fourth Place: 10 pts
The best place to begin to take a bite,
To tickle your fancy and every delight.

Challenge One Results
The votes are in for the Sorting Hat Song Challenge section of the 2008 House Cup and it turned out to be a REALLY close race. In fact, we ended up with TWO two-way ties!! Tying for First Place are Hufflepuff and Slytherin House, each earning 50 points. Tying for Third Place are Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, each earning 15 points.
Congratulations to all the Houses and a big thanks to everyone who participated. The points will be updated shortly. All the song submissions will be posted in the Competition section of the Forums so stop on in and take a look.
If you didn’t get a chance to join in the fun for challenge one, don’t fret. Challenge Two is just around the corner!
